This highly polished miniature bowl showcases the fine art of Santa Clara potter Monica Naranjo Romero. Monica is the daughter of Geri Naranjo and granddaughter of Ursulita Naranjo. A talented miniature pottery artist she and her brother(Kevin Naranjo) are leading the way for future Naranjo family talents.
Made in the black ware style popular in Santa Clara Pueblo, Romero's exquisite piece features a feather, Avanyu,(water serpent), Kokopelli and traditional designs. This style of etching, called sgraffito, is created by carving very intricate designs into the surface of the pot by hand. Handcrafting miniature vessel requires an amazing level of technical skill and precision, and Romero produces pieces of unmatched detail and artistry.
Bowl measures 2" long and wide, stands 2-7/8" tall. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
