Open Call to Artists
The Indian Pueblo Store welcomes Native American artists interested in having their handcrafted work considered for purchase or consignment. Our buyers enjoy working directly with artists and are committed to showcasing authentic, high-quality Native-made art.
Whether you're an emerging artist or an established maker, we invite you to learn more about our buying process below.
How It Works: Easy Steps for Artists
Step 1: Make Sure Your Artwork Meets Requirements
- Artwork must meet the quality standards established by the American Indian Arts and Crafts Act.
- All artwork must be signed or stamped by the artist at the time of purchase consideration.
- Please ensure your contact information is current and up to date.
Step 2: Bring Your Work for Review
Walk-In Viewing Hours
- Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM
During these designated hours, buyers may review handcrafted artwork from walk-in artists.
Step 3: Schedule an Appointment (If Needed)
Depending on the needs of the Indian Pueblo Store, buyers may schedule appointments directly with artists to review specific artwork.
Step 4: Await Buyer Evaluation
Please note that artwork reviews are not a commitment to purchase. Buyers evaluate each piece based on quality, craftsmanship, authenticity, and current inventory needs.
Step 5: Receive a Purchase Order
If artwork is selected, the Indian Pueblo Store uses a formal purchase order system that clearly outlines:
- Quantity requested
- Delivery dates
- Buyer information
Buyers are not authorized to make verbal purchasing commitments on behalf of the Indian Pueblo Store.
Step 6: Explore Consignment Opportunities
The Indian Pueblo Store also offers select artists the opportunity to place artwork on consignment.
Important Information
- Walk-in review days are offered as needed, and purchases are not made every Tuesday and Wednesday.
- If traveling from a distance, please call ahead to confirm buyers are actively reviewing artwork before making the trip.
- Artists are responsible for maintaining current contact information with the Indian Pueblo Store.
- Artwork reviews, whether walk-in or by appointment, do not guarantee a purchase.
