This unique handcrafted jar was created using natural clay, vegetal and mineral paints, and traditional firing methods by Elizabeth and Marcellus Medina who are widely considered the most skilled potters working in Zia Pueblo today.
Showcasing their talent as master potters, this unique piece captures two unique bird and floral and traditional designs of the Zia Pueblo. Work in the traditional Zia style, the Medinas, apply slip to their natural clay vessels, buff the background, and then paint polychrome designs in red, brown and black. This expertly crafted bowl is a timeless work of fine art from Zia Pueblo's premier potters.
Vase measures 5-1/8" long and wide, stands 4-1/2" tall. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
