Kinaalda: A Navajo Girl Grow Up

Part of the "We are still Here" Native America series, this book explores the custom and describes a "Kinaalda", which is a traditional coming of age ceremony for Navajo girls.  Not only does this book share a wonderful discussion of this traditional custom through the eyes of the participants it also discusses how Native Americans of today maintain their cultural identities in contemporary society.
