Ruben Najera Antler Raccoon Fetish Carving

Handcrafted by Zuni Pueblo artist Ruben Najera, this unique and delicate raccoon was carved using deer antler. With the use of a wood burning tool Najera craftily brings the playful nature and distinctive dark facial and body markings.

The Zuni people believe that the skills and qualities of the animal reside in these fetishes and can bring some of the animals’ power to their keeper.
Raccoon is master of masks and disguises, and teaches that no one is ever quite what they seem to be. Raccoon can guide us in choosing the appropriate roles to play and help us go in and out of the roles with ease.

Carving measures 1-1/2" long and 1" wide, stands 2" tall. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
