Cody Nastacio Sodalite Parrot Fetish Carving

Zuni artist Cody Nastacio hand-carved this striking fetish, a beautiful example of an ancient art form. In Pueblo culture, the parrot's brightly colored feathers have been highly valued for nearly a thousand years. The bright colors were associated with the south and the sun.

Created using sodalite with turquoise eyes and jet beak. This fetish represents Zuni culture and the legacy of the fetish-carving tradition.

Parrot measures 2-3/8" long and 1-1/8" wide, stands 3-1/4 tall. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
