Hopi Traditional Olla Jar

Lovely water jar (Olla) handcrafted by Hopi-Tewa artists showcasing an orange slip and black traditional designs.

Hopi-Tewa pottery originated from the village of Hano on First Mesa, in Hopi Pueblo from Tewa descendants that fled to Hopi during the Pueblo Revolt. Known for yellow, orange or cream finishes with traditional designs painted with natural pigments, these pieces are hand constructed using coil and scrape techniques. A perfect addition to any pottery collection.

Jar measures 5-7/8" long and wide, stands 3-1/4" tall. Comes with a certificate off authenticity.
