Cody Nastacio Soapstone Badger Fetish Carving

Handcrafted by Zuni Pueblo artist Cody Nastacio, this badger carved from soapstone represents the southern direction and is a protective and healing fetish set. Badger is most often associated with the color red, and is believed to have knowledge of healing roots and herbs.

Fetishes are small carvings that depict animals or other important Native icons. Many tribes and Pueblos of the Southwest are known for making fetishes, but this ancient art form is most closely associated with the Zuni, who are considered the most skilled fetish carvers.

Badger measures 4" long and 2-1/4" wide, stands 2" tall. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
