Description

Native Americans are inspired by their rich cultural history and the traditions of art, dance, community, and cuisine that have been carefully handed down for generations.

Corn is a necessity in Southwestern culture. It brings blessings, as well as nourishment. This image depicts stylized ears of corn symbolizing a successful harvest. The ears of corn are surrounded by elements of clouds and rain in a double-matted 10 x 8 print.

Dalton James is a self-taught artist from Hopi Pueblo, and is a member of the Tobacco Clan from the village of Hotevilla in northeastern Arizona.
