This unique eagle fetish from Zuni Pueblo artist Daryl Shack is an exquisite example of Pueblo craftsmanship. Crafted from wonderstone, a stone made of a variety of rhyolite, a volcanic rock that forms through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava. primarily associated with the regions of Utah and Nevada. With its hues of maroon, cream and yellow produced by the oxidation of iron oxides within the rock. In Zuni culture, eagles are revered animals seen as guardians of the world above.
