About the Artist

Donald A. Grinde is a a Yamasee Indian, and heads the Ethnic Studies program at the University of Vermont. He is the author of "The Iroquois and the Founding of the American Nation" and co-author with Bruce E. Johansen of "Debating Democracy: Native American Legacy of Freedom," and several other books on Native American history. Bruce E. Johansen, Professor of History, Univeristy of Nebraska at Omaha, is the author of "Forgotten Founders," Exemplars of Liberty," and other books.
