Award-winning Navajo weaver Mary Shepard created this unique piece, known as a "Sampler", for it blending of multiple styles in one piece. Featuring four unique styles and color combinations Mary's skill is apparent as she blends the Two Grey Hills, Tec Nos Pos, Storm Pattern, Klagetoh styles of rugs into one piece and truly highlights the legacy of Navajo weaving.
Seen as the pinnacle of Navajo art and craftsmanship, Navajo rugs are known for the tightness of the yarn, complexity of design and use of all-natural undyed wool.
